Our Summer Schedule effective July 2. New classes this quarter: Yin with switches to a new night (Tuesday), later time (6:45), and more intimate setting in lovely studio 2 with it's view of Mount Madonna. We'll add more pranayama practice, too. Another Sweet Vinyasa class with Suzanne on Wednesday nights at 6 in Studio 1. Post-Natal Yoga with Lisa addresses the specific conditions of early motherhood on Thursday evenings at 6 in Studio 2.

It's easy to see that Yoga is becoming increasingly popular and more widely practiced. You are here at this site because you do practice yoga already or perhaps are interested in beginning. Isn't it curious that this very old, somewhat mystical system of knowledge is finding new importance today and here in the western world, so culturally different from the soil of the east where it sprung? We live in difficult times, times of crisis, times of intense distractions, times of stress, and it seems that Yoga is finding such relevance in our times because it offers teachings that help to ground us in our physical and psychological reality and techniques that catalyze growth and evolution. In yoga, we find brilliant and yet simple practices to revitalize our ever-changing body, to purify our nervous system, to rest our mind and to enjoy greater energy and better health. Yoga itself is neutral: a Hindu nervous system is the same as a western one. Whoever practices yoga will be enlivened in his or her own way: this is what we strongly stand by at Smiling Dog. Practicing Yoga appropriately and respectfully can help all of us live more positive lives and transform our world today.
